IMovie imports video from tapes in real time, so it takes as long to import the video as it takes to watch it play. When the section of video you want to import has been imported, click Stop Import.   5. Choose the video which you want to import to iMovie.
  6. Tap 'i' icon, you will see all details of the video.
  7. Tap 'Open In' button.
  8. Select 'Open in iMovie' option.
  9. An iMovie opens up.
  10. Choose the location to save your video in iMovie.
